Terms and Conditions

1. SCOPE OF APPLICATION

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern the legal relationship between Hotel Interlaken (hereinafter referred to as “Hotel”) and the individual guest (hereinafter referred to as “Guest”) for the provision of hotel rooms as well as any other services and deliveries provided by the hotel.

2. CONCLUSION OF CONTRACT

A contract between the guest and the hotel is concluded upon the hotel’s acceptance of a reservation, which must be in written or electronic form. Once the reservation is confirmed by the hotel, the contract is considered concluded.

3. PRICES AND PAYMENT TERMS

3.1. The prices indicated by the hotel are in Swiss Francs (CHF) per room and per night, including the statutory VAT and breakfast. All prices are net prices (non-commissionable).

3.2. Unless otherwise agreed, additional services such as half-board, parking fees, etc., are not included in the price.

3.3. For flexible rates, the invoice amount must be paid directly at the hotel at the latest upon departure.

3.4. For non-refundable rates, the total invoice amount must be paid at the time of booking. No refunds will be made for changes or cancellations.

4. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

The reserved room is available to the guest from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, the room must be vacated by 11:00 AM at the latest. For later departures, the hotel may charge an additional fee.

5. CANCELLATION AND NO-SHOW

5.1. Cancellation by the Guest: A cancellation of the reservation must be made in writing. The following cancellation conditions apply unless otherwise agreed in writing:

5.1.1. May 1 to October 31
– Cancellations up to 5 days before the arrival date: free of charge
– Cancellations after 5 days before the arrival date: the first night
– No-show: If the guest does not arrive without prior cancellation, the first night will be charged to the guest.

5.12. November 1 to April 30
– Cancellations up to 2 days before the arrival date: free of charge
– Cancellations after 2 days before the arrival date: the first night
– No-show: If the guest does not arrive without prior cancellation, the first night will be charged to the guest.

5.2. Cancellation by the Hotel: The hotel is entitled to terminate the contract with immediate effect for important reasons. Important reasons include, in particular, force majeure, natural disasters, strikes, or other circumstances beyond the hotel’s control that make the performance of the contract impossible.

6. LIABILITY

6.1. Liability of the Hotel: The hotel is liable for damages caused by intent or gross negligence. For slight negligence, the hotel is only liable for the violation of essential contractual obligations. In any case, liability is limited to the typically foreseeable damage.

6.2. Liability of the Guest: The guest is liable for any damage or loss caused by them or by their companions or guests in the hotel, provided that it is due to their fault or the fault of their companions or guests.

7. DATA PROTECTION

The hotel is committed to protecting the guest’s personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. The data will only be used within the scope of the business relationship between the guest and the hotel and will not be disclosed to third parties unless necessary for contract execution.

8. FINAL PROVISIONS

8.1. Changes to the GTC: The hotel reserves the right to change these GTC at any time. The modified GTC will be made known to the guest before the conclusion of the contract.

8.2. Different conditions apply for groups – see the conditions in the individual group confirmations.

8.3. Jurisdiction and applicable law: The jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with this contract is the location of the hotel, unless the guest has a general jurisdiction in Switzerland. Swiss law applies.
